Next section >> Mark bookThe mark book is where you monitor your set work. It shows you all the groups with work set. On the first screen, you can choose to view the work by group or by student (including student details). Clicking the 'Group work' link takes you to a summary screen showing all work set for the group, and a link to any previously set work that has been archived. Clicking the 'Archive' link will move the work into the 'Archived work' section, and clicking the 'Delete' link will unset the piece of work (note that you will lose any marks you've given for students who have already completed the work). Clicking on the name of each piece of work takes you to a further screen that shows the summary information on a per-student basis. For interactive tests set by the teacher, the mark will appear here. You can also add marks for any piece of work set here, and change the status of a student's work if it needs to be updated if you have tracked submission status. Clicking the 'Student details/work' link from the main 'Mark book' screen takes you to a summary screen where you can enter customised information for each student: You can change the heading for each custom field and then add information for each student based on the headings you choose. Clicking a student's name takes you to a summary of active and archived work for that student. Export mark bookClicking the 'export mark book' link lets you generate a .csv file of your student and group data, which you can then manipulate in other software packages. First, select a group and one or more topics to export data for. Then click the 'Export' button and choose a destination for the file when prompted by the dialog box. The file will be saved to your local machine (or the network if you choose) as a .csv file. This is a common file format that can be read by most spreadsheet and database packages - please refer to the documentation for your spreadsheet or database for more information on how you can use this file.
